A Louisiana native, Kevin Rabalais has lived in New Zealand, France and Australia. For his debut novel, The Landscape of Desire, he received a Sydney Morning Herald Award for Best Young Novelist. He is coeditor of Novel Voices, conversations with award-winning writers, Sacred Trespasses: A Loyola University New Orleans Faculty Reader and Conversations with James Salter. His work has appeared in Brick, The Kenyon Review, Glimmer Train, The Missouri Review, Cineaste and Tin House. He has taught literature and creative writing in New Orleans, France and Australia. He regularly reviews books for The Age, the Sydney Morning Herald, The Monthly, The Australian and Australian Book Review. His photographs have appeared on book and magazine covers.
